DESCRIPTION
A jewel in Positano's crown is the exquisite Villa del Sole, which overlooks the sun-drenched town and sea below. The villa dates back to 1741 and was completely restored by its current owners in 2013. Its luxurious and romantic atmosphere is steeped in rich history and art, retaining a sense of the grandeur that guests would have encountered centuries ago. Today, guests will find a very special atmosphere that blends the villas's unique history with modern amenities and exclusive services throughout the vast property.
Villa del Sole boasts generous indoor spaces and is well-appointed for use by intimate groups or large parties. There is a spacious dining and living area equipped with a plasma TV, a full library, and a desk with office services (scanner, fax, etc.). With eight large bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, this property can accommodate up to sixteen adults very comfortably. All bedrooms have access to a terrace and are equally well furnished with antiques, hand-painted Neapolitan tiles, and brand new upholstery and linens. Amenities include separate air conditioning units for the bathrooms and the bedrooms.
An expansive main terrace runs the length of the villa offering sweeping views of the sea and sky while overlooking Positano and, further west, the island of Capri. The terrace is furnished with both dining and living areas that comfortably seat sixteen. Decorating the space are large antique terra-cotta 'orce', once used for oil, overflowing with flowering plants. Double doors open to the dining and kitchen areas providing a breezy indoor/outdoor flow.
Those looking for rest and relaxation can enjoy the luxurious infinity pool, its surrounding sun beds, and outdoor shower. There's a guest bathroom on the adjacent main terrace for convenience. From this level, stairs lead to the upper garden filled with almond, olive, lemon, and mandarin trees bordered by bougainvillea and jasmine. At breakfast, guests will find freshly squeezed juices and marmalades made directly from this abundant garden.
Being a guest at Villa del Sole includes the services of the professional villa staff. A concierge remains in constant contact to be sure preferences are accommodated and to assist with scheduling excursions. Guests will also be pampered by a cook eight hours a day, preparing up to two meals on request in the professional-grade kitchen. Hands-on cooking classes, utilizing the antique oven for bread and pizza-making or learning how to prepare regional specialties, can be arranged as well.

LOCATION
Villa del Sole is reached by following a quaint neighborhood path and about 60 shallow steps from the end of the street. Town center and the main beach can be reached by foot within about 15 to 20 minutes. Porter services are included to help with bags and luggage.
